In the late 70´s Mr. José Gimenez traveled to Japan interested by the great economic boom of that time.
He returned in love of its culture, its customs and its beauty standards forever.
A Tokyo cosmetics brand entrusted the distribution of the products exclusively in Spain to him.
He began a friendship and business relationship FOREVER.
The great reception on the Spanish market and the professional support caused a spectacular growth.
In the third year of life, due to the high sales volume Utsukusy began to manufacture in Spain but allways with Japanese formulation.
In 1983 Utsukusy already offered several product lines, and started to promote the products in Trade Shows. The first stand of Utsukusy Cosmetics was presented in Barcelona professional Trade Show with the magazine “Les nouvelle esthétiques”.
In 1984 was the first Spanish brand to create and introduce in the market a Rosehip Cream.
The development and research in new assets for the diferent skin treatmentS and the constant research to stop the visible effects of aging improved the products and Utsukusy´s offer.
The good reputation of the brand was soon reaching new markets and opening new distribution chanels in countries like Portugal, Germany, Bulgary, Holland and Greece among others.
Utsukusy Cosmetics was the first Spanish brand in creating the snail mucus cream.
One of Utsukusy´s signs of idenity have been the innovative spirit of its founder, in 1988 the Spanish aesthetic professionals enjoyed the benefits and properties of unique and original assets like fresh cells, retinol or phlebotonic leeches extract.
Utsukusy Cosmetcs took part for the first time attending to international Trade Shows like Bolonia-Italy and Frankfurt-Germany, among others.
There were changes on design, packaging and products presentation.
At that time was introduced a complete professional makeup product range.
Providing a system of continuous training for spanish and foreigner distributors.
In cosmetic world training is important, Utsukusy therapist experts were able to combine cosmetic innovations with the ancestral knowledge from shiatsu, Kampoo medicine and Japanese techniques and rituals.
Nowadays comercial and technical training is given by our professional staff.
Ana Gimenez joined the company to work together with her father, the former founder. She was trained to learn all his skills in the business management. Ana set a new team with Sergi García as the Sales Manager and Alberto Barrero at the Export Department.
Despite the growth, UTSUKUSY COSMETICS does not lose its character of family business.
With the addition of these three young people the company got new energy and new communication techniques like social media. A growth on the export can be seen and Utsukusy Cosmetics is being introduced in new markets like Baltic Countries, Romania or China.
Molecular engineering allows to repair and get a naturally healthy skin. WAKAI cream was awarded with the Innovation Prize in 2014 by the prestigious cosmetic magazine “Les nouvelle esthétiques”.
